Easter Celebration Tart

Easter Celebration Tart

There are so many celebrations throughout the year. Birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, housewarming, engagements, weddings....And that's before we even get started on the set holidays such as Easter, Mothers and Fathers Days and Christmas. It doesn't matter what nationality you are, celebrations always revolve around food. And we all have our own traditions.

Which is wonderful. Except if you are digestively challenged

I've lost count of how many cakes I have gazed upon longingly, trifles I have winked at, tarts I have drooled over, all in the hope that the gluten would magically disappear. There have been many a person...

Raw Bounty Donuts

Raw Bounty Donuts

If you read my interview last month, you will know I have had a life long love affair with donuts. Cinnamon ones have always been my favourite, I will take those over iced ones any day. But alas, along with so many others, donuts are long gone from my list of treats as the sugar and gluten just isn't worth the pain.

But raw donuts, now there's a treat I can, and do, eat!

As it is National Donut Day today, what better way to celebrate than with some healthy donuts! I think...

Raw Snickers Cheesecake

Raw Snickers Cheesecake

Since I made this cheesecake a few weeks ago, I have not been allowed to make any other flavour. This conversation seems to have been on repeat ever since I made them. What treats would you like this week? Cheesecake. Blueberry? Snickers. Strawberry and cream? Snickers. Pear and caramel? Snickers. Raspberry lime? What part of Snickers are you not hearing....

Ok so maybe I need to stop giving the option and just make something else!

You can't possibly go wrong with a decadent dessert made from caramel, chocolate and nuts

Golden Gaytime Raw Cheesecake

Golden Gaytime Raw Cheesecake

I decided that my birthday this year was the perfect excuse to make a cheesecake with my favourite flavours.

I wanted it to be something I hadn’t made before and one that was more of a celebration cake and maybe just a little bit fancier than other cheesecakes I’d made. A week earlier Taline Gabrielian (of Hippie Lane fame) had posted a gorgeous swirly chocolatey caramelly looking cake to celebrate her birthday; so I jumped on to the Hippie Lane app as there is a beautiful Celebration Cakes section. I’m not a mocha flavour person but something about...

Raw Salted Caramel Slice

Raw Salted Caramel Slice

Who doesn’t love caramel slice?!

Caramel slice has been floating around since before time began. The original slice I find a little rich and sweet for my taste but this raw slice has the right amount of goodness to balance the sweetness! This keeps really well in the freezer, as do most raw desserts, so if you make too much of this (not sure if that is even possible) then it will never go to waste.

As a kid my favourite chocolate in any mixed box was the chewy caramels. Darrell Lea, Cadbury Favourites, Butler’s Chocolates, Thornton’s...whatever...
