Beetroot & Black Bean Burger

Beetroot & Black Bean Burger

It's the middle of winter in the Southern Hemisphere and root vegetables are gloriously abundant! What better way to celebrate the vibrantly beautiful beet than with this burger. And black beans are wonderful for your health in winter - if you read The Importance of Hibernation in Winter, Amanda from Auricfields Kinesiology spoke about Winter being associated with the kidneys in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Black beans, and most black foods for that matter, support and nourish, strengthen and protect the kidneys so this is a perfect winter...

Decadent Hot Chocolate

Decadent Hot Chocolate

As a kid on a cold and wet day I used run all the way home from school hoping to see mum putting freshly laid picklets on the table, mugs of hot chocolate waiting for us. It was such a treat, reserved for those miserable days when she wanted to warm us up and wash away the day in a flurry of tiny little pancakes and a steaming mug of hot chocolate. Buckwheat Bread

Buckwheat Bread

This bread is nutty, full of texture and although it's dense it has a lightness to it. And it's my saviour! I have two of the celiac genes. There always has to be something crunchy though, as to me chia pudding without anything crunchy or chewy is, well, too much like baby food for my...

Raw Chocolate Mousse

Raw Chocolate Mousse

Is there anything more deliciously decadent than a soft, billowy chocolate mousse?

There are possibly as many chocolate mousse recipes as there are spaghetti Bolognese recipes! And that's even before raw chocolate mousse hit the scenes.

Growing up, when bananas were starting to get their black spots, mum always made a banana cake, or for a real treat a banana smoothie! Oh how we looked forward to those, with a dash of vanilla.

These days, when bananas start to turn I slice them and freeze them, ready to use in smoothies or to make ice cream. Or Chocolate...
