How to Use Intention Oils and Mists

Whether you’re a big believer in manifestation or have read up on the scientific evidence around the benefits of mindfulness and meditation, you might be open to learning more about how an intention practice can help bring positive change to your life.

What is an intention practice?

Your personal intention practice may look different from someone else’s; it’s a deeply unique ritual that’s best done in a way that feels right for you. The focus of an intention practice is to put your mind to thinking about what you’d like to feel and achieve and send positive, intentional energy toward that goal or feeling. But how do you start this mindfulness routine, and how do intention oils and mists come into play?

Step one: What is your intention?

Creating space and time to ask yourself questions about what you want and need can help bring clarity to your goals and approach to life. Your intention practice could be guided by reflecting on some of the following things:

  • What would you like to see more of in your life?
  • What do you want to get better at?
  • What do you want to let go?
  • Where do you need support?
  • What do you want to achieve?
  • What do you want to accept?
  • Is there something coming up you’re nervous about?

Any questions you may want to ask yourself can be a part of your practice. Your intention ritual is a safe space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings and options – no matter what they are.

Step two: What is your mantra or affirmation?

As with many forms of meditation, a mantra is quite common in intention rituals. Your mantra can be an affirmation, phrase, word or sentence that reminds you of what you’re trying to learn, achieve, change or approve. Your mantra can be anything meaningful, helpful or inspiring to you. Here are some examples:

  • “I am capable of growth.”
  • “I am not defined by my worst moments.”
  • “I accept what I cannot control.”
  • “I can forgive.”
  • “I can make a good first impression.”
  • “I will let go of that which does not serve me.”
  • “I am open to positive energy.”

Step three: Mindfulness

Mindfulness is the practice of tuning in with your senses and allowing your mind to find a calm state of awareness. Many people enjoy mindfulness while performing an activity – anything from exercising to doing the dishes can offer a chance to check in with your mind and senses.

An intention practice pairs well with mindfulness meditation. Sit or stand comfortably and focus on your breathing. As you breathe, note any sounds you hear or sensations you feel. Let your thoughts flow freely. When you feel grounded in yourself, you can start thinking or speaking your mantra or intention for the session.

Step 4: Using intention mists or intention oils in your practice

Intention oils can be rolled onto your skin, and intention sprays can be sprayed throughout a room or onto your skin. You can use these at any point of your practice – before, during, or to finish. The more you use an intention oil or spray with a particular mantra in mind, the more you associate those smells with a certain mindset.

Olfactory memories (memories linked to smell) are incredibly strong triggers, and eventually, you can essentially ‘condition’ yourself to feel a certain way when you smell a particular scent. For example, if you meditate using the Grounding Intention Oil or Mist and attach a mantra along the lines of “I am capable, grounded, calm and centred”, you could then simply spray or roll it on before a job interview for a grounding effect.

Livskraft Intention Oils and Intention Mists are created with the energy of crystals with properties that support that intention. You can begin to benefit from the first use and build up a personalised practice and connection to the scent. Plus, they all make wonderful room sprays or roll-on scents based on fragrance alone!

Livskraft Intention Oils and Mists are created for five common meditation focuses:

Livskraft Crystal Infused Intention Perfume Oils

Abundance

Sweet Orange will help open your heart to the potential around you, while Ginger is the oil of empowerment, helping you create the life you want with a feeling of attraction and flow. The infusion of Garnet, the stone of prosperity, will heighten your intention.

Grounding

Smoky Quartz and Hematite crystals are stabilising gemstones, eliminating negative energy in the body, while Vetiver is emotionally grounding and has soothing, calming and balancing effects on the mind. Silver fir helps relax you in the present moment, while lime promotes emotional balance, gently holding you in the Now.

Gratitude

Lavender increases a sense of security and peace, helping you to build trust in yourself and others. Aventurine crystals harness the power of appreciation, allowing you to set healthy boundaries while also enjoying those around you. Frankincense is used alongside gratitude prayer and meditation to help connect you with your spirit and ward off negativity.

Protection

Black Tourmaline helps put an energetic boundary between you and others, stopping you from picking up on other people’s energy. Cypress oil is used to purify surrounding energy while uplifting your personal vibration. Frankincense helps remove negativity from the environment, which is perfect for shielding your aura and keeping it strong.

Self Love

Bergamot has been used to heighten self-worth and acceptance, help you step away from fears of not being good enough, and self-judgement. Rose Quartz is the stone of unconditional love, radiating gentle, soothing vibrations to restore your emotions.
